Manager, BMS Hardware (Aerospace)

Base pay range: $170,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead development of high-voltage battery management system and charge control unit hardware.
• Build and mentor an electrical engineering team.
• Guide hardware architecture, concept down-selection, design reviews, and flight hardware releases.
• Balance performance, safety, schedule, and certification constraints in technical decisions.
• Lead cross-functional hardware analyses, including WCCA, FMEA, and PSSA, in support of safe flight and certification.
• Coordinate with suppliers, certification authorities, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, integration, and test teams through production ramp and aircraft deployment.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical system design for EV, aerospace, or similar high-reliability applications.
• 3+ years of demonstrated people management experience.
• Experience with high-voltage battery systems and BMS electronics.
• Ability to lead teams through ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Strong technical communication, stakeholder management, and engineering talent development skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing high-voltage battery systems for aerospace and automotive applications.
• New product development experience in regulated industries.
• Experience with DO-254, DO-160, AC 20-152A, ARP4754, or ISO 26262.
• Passion for aviation and eVTOL aircraft.
