TL;DR
Principal Design Engineer - Physical Design (DDR PHY IP): Implementing high-speed digital DDR PHY IP physical designs and developing scripts and tools for advanced physical design flows with an accent on floorplanning, clock tree synthesis, timing analysis, and PPA optimization. Focus on solving implementation issues, creating preventive design checks, and adapting optimal parameters and methodologies across advanced process nodes.

What you will do

  • Implement high-speed digital DDR PHY IP physical designs.
  • Develop scripts and tools to improve the physical design flow.
  • Complete physical design tasks across product projects.
  • Investigate design issues and create checks and flow improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze PPA optimization methods and results, then implement optimal parameters and flows for different projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of experience, or master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Strong experience in digital physical design, including floorplanning, clock tree synthesis, static timing analysis, physical verification, and power analysis.
  • Background in circuits, electronics, and physics, with willingness to learn advanced process technologies and design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, C shell, TCL, Makefile, or Python.
  • Familiarity with EDA tools including Innovus, ICC, Calibre, Tempus, and PrimeTime.
