Powertrain Manufacturing Test Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead end-of-line and in-process test development for high-voltage batteries and electric motors.
• Design, deploy, validate, and commission manufacturing test strategies and production test equipment.
• Program, maintain, and optimize automated test equipment, test sequences, pass/fail logic, and data collection systems.
• Integrate test stations into production lines and improve throughput, yield, and quality with Manufacturing, Design, Quality, and Test teams.
• Analyze production test data, identify trends, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Support first article inspection, production qualification, process changes, troubleshooting, calibration, maintenance, and validation of test equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing test engineering experience; EV battery or electric motor production experience is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with production test equipment and automated electrical test systems.
• Strong understanding of high-voltage safety, battery and motor manufacturing, battery testing, motor testing, SPC, and MES.
• Experience taking production test equipment from prototype through mass production and creating sustainable test procedures and work instructions.
• Ability to work directly on the production floor with technicians and operators and collaborate cross-functionally.

Nice to have

• Battery module or pack and electric motor manufacturing experience.
• Experience with BMS or motor controller programming, industrial communications, PLC-based automation, dynamometer testing, power electronics, or motor control.
• Exposure to aerospace manufacturing, AS9100, eVTOL programs, lean manufacturing, or production ramp-ups.
• Ability to support multiple shifts during critical production phases.
