What you will do
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing Manufacturing Design Engineering (MDE) team, including headcount planning and career development.
- Drive the strategy, budget, and execution for all powertrain manufacturing equipment to ensure capacity meets future demand.
- Manage the equipment execution process from design specifications and RFQs through Factory/Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) and ramp.
- Build strategic relationships with global equipment integrators and automation suppliers.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to integrate DFM insights back into product design for high-volume optimization.
- Manage the cost center and provide data-driven status updates to the executive leadership team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of experience directly managing a technical engineering team.
- 5+ years in a highly automated, high-volume manufacturing environment (EV, Aerospace, or Semiconductor preferred).
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and Capex planning.
- Strong proficiency in structured problem-solving (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, 8D) and statistical process control/GD&T.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience with eMotor (inverters, rotors, stators, gearboxes) or Battery (module/pack assembly) manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff) or Robotics (Fanuc, Kuka, ABB).
- Familiarity with Electrical & Safety Standards such as NFPA79, NEC, UL508A, or OSHA.
