Lead Powertrain Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary manufacturing engineering team from Associate to Senior Engineer level.
• Own major CapEx projects from factory layout and equipment sourcing through commissioning and production handover.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Battery/HVPS assemblies or Electric Drive Units, including stator manufacturing, gearbox assembly, and end-of-line testing.
• Lead the transition of powertrain designs into high-volume manufacturing while specifications are still being finalized.
• Drive continuous improvement, capacity expansion, equipment performance, and predictive maintenance in a high-cadence production environment.
• Manage vendors and internal stakeholders to deliver capacity increases on schedule, within budget, and with appropriate technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in EV or aerospace manufacturing with expertise in Battery/HVPS assemblies or Electric Drive Units, including stator, rotor, or gearbox production.
• Experience managing large-scale projects of $10M or more from equipment specification and commissioning through full-scale production handover.
• Experience leading and developing multi-level engineering teams in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with NX or AutoCAD, PLM/MES systems, and industrial automation including robotics, PLCs, or gantries.
• Knowledge of GD&T, SPC, DMAIC, 8D, 5 Whys, OEE optimization, and predictive maintenance.

Nice to have

• Experience with dyno testing, high-voltage battery safety validation, or advanced end-of-line diagnostic systems.
• Expertise in high-speed automated assembly lines using multi-axis robotics and vision systems.
• Familiarity with aircraft conformity, configuration management, IATF 16949, or AS9100.
• Advanced NX skills for factory layout and simulation tools for modeling throughput and bottlenecks.
