TL;DR

Lead Powertrain Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Scaling production of the Electric Propulsion System (EPS), including motors and battery assemblies, with an accent on bridging the gap between design and high-volume production. What you will do

  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering squad, providing technical mentorship to Associate through Senior Engineers.
  • Own the full lifecycle of major CapEx projects, from factory layout and equipment sourcing to final commissioning.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Battery/HVPS assembly or Electric Drive Units (EDU).
  • Manage the transition from concept to high-volume manufacturing, designing production lines "at risk" during product finalization.
  • Solve complex continuous improvement challenges to support aggressive production targets.
  • Manage vendor relationships and internal stakeholders to ensure capacity increases stay on track and on budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in EV or Aerospace manufacturing with deep knowledge of Battery/HVPS or EDU production.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale CapEx projects ($10M+).
  • Experience leading and developing multi-level engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in NX, AutoCAD, PLM/MES systems, and industrial automation (robotics, PLCs).
  • Strong foundation in GD&T, SPC, and structured problem-solving (DMAIC, 8D, or 5 Whys).

Nice to have

  • Experience with Dyno testing, high-voltage battery safety validation, or EOL diagnostic systems.
  • Expertise in architecting high-speed automated assembly lines with multi-axis robotics and vision systems.
  • Familiarity with aircraft conformity, AS9100, or IATF 16949 quality frameworks.
  • Expert-level NX proficiency for factory layout and simulation tools for line throughput modeling.
