What you will do

• Design and implement flight control algorithms for novel VTOL aircraft.
• Build and improve high-fidelity vehicle and environment simulation models.
• Run trade studies to inform aircraft design and system architecture.
• Collaborate with Flight Test teams to design and execute safety evaluations.
• Analyze full-scale and sub-scale flight data to optimize models.
• Author software requirements and test cases for GNC software.

Requirements

• Must have legal authorization to work in the US (no visa sponsorship available).
• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, optimization, and classical/modern control theory.
• BS in Aerospace, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field (10+ years exp), MS (6+ years), or PhD (4+ years).
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.

Nice to have

• Experience with envelope protection and system identification techniques.
• Knowledge of fault detection and isolation techniques.
• Experience implementing trajectory generation and optimization algorithms.
• Piloting experience or flight testing of autonomous aircraft/rotorcraft.
