What you will do

• Build and refine vehicle performance models, perform trade study analyses, and define performance requirements.
• Evaluate flying and handling qualities and determine maneuvering overhead for optimal responsiveness and safety.
• Perform system identification and linearization of complex vehicle dynamics, analyzing aeromechanics and aeroelasticity.
• Support flight control design, including the development of notch filters and envelope definition.
• Conduct simulations to support Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs) at the vehicle level.
• Analyze flight test data to identify model errors and update vehicle physics models.

Requirements

• BS in an Engineering discipline (MS or PhD highly desirable).
• 5+ years of aerospace vehicle performance and simulation experience at a full-vehicle level.
• Deep understanding of aerodynamics pertaining to helicopter rotors, eVTOL, and/or fixed-wing aircraft.
• High level of expertise in multi-body dynamics simulations and developing tools in Python and MATLAB.
• Expertise in modeling and numerical optimization techniques for aerodynamic vehicles.
• Must have valid US work authorization (no visa sponsorship available).

Nice to have

• Experience modeling and analyzing eVTOL aircraft and electric powertrains.
• Rotorcraft experience.
• Pilot’s license.
