What you will do

• Design and develop piece parts, assemblies, and structural systems for all stages of the Terran R rocket.
• Take designs from concept through initial release using machined metals, sheet metal, composites, and formed panels.
• Coordinate design-for-manufacturing decisions with manufacturing engineering and support fabrication of flight components.
• Assess system packaging, resolve interferences, perform tolerance stack analyses, and define gapping, shimming, and fastener strategies.
• Manage BOMs, configuration, and part lifecycles in PLM across multiple vehicle systems.
• Create and release drawings after CDR, using GD&T as the primary design definition, and present recommendations when decisions are needed.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with an industry-standard CAD package such as NX, CATIA, Creo, or SOLIDWORKS.
• Fundamental knowledge of structural strength, stability, and fatigue failure mechanisms.
• Ability to lead projects to completion, work collaboratively, and operate in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• 1+ years of experience with NX and Teamcenter PLM.
• 1+ years of experience with GD&T and drafting.
