What you will do
- Design, configure, and maintain flight test data acquisition system (DAS) software for structural loads measurements.
- Develop and validate loads equations and transfer functions to derive internal structural loads.
- Plan and execute loads survey flight test programs in coordination with structural analysts.
- Build automated data pipelines and analysis tools to accelerate loads extraction and fatigue spectrum development.
- Compare flight test loads data against analytical models to drive model updates and structural dispositions.
- Compile test reports and documentation to support FAA certification deliverables.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in flight test loads, structural test, or loads and dynamics engineering on aircraft or spacecraft.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- Hands-on experience with DAS hardware configuration, sensor integration, and telemetry.
- Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB for automated data processing and visualization.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis methods and fatigue/damage tolerance concepts.
- Must have valid US work authorization; the company is unable to provide visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience with FAA certification under Part 23 or Part 27.
- Proficiency with FEA codes such as Nastran, Optistruct, Ansys, or Abaqus.
- Experience with RCAS, CAMRADII or similar rotorcraft comprehensive analysis tools.
- Background in signal processing, filtering, or time-frequency analysis of structural response data.
