Location: Redwood City, California, United States; on-site. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected individual status, or eligibility for required U.S. government authorizations is required under ITAR.
Salary: $150,000–$250,000 per year, with flexibility between salary and equity-based compensation.

What you will do
- Develop reliable, low-latency embedded software for radar sensors, communication systems, and satellite flight control.
- Bring up Linux-based boards integrating radar sensors, flight computers, RF transceivers, and navigation sensors.
- Implement high-efficiency data movement across radar sensors, FPGA fabric, processors, networking interfaces, and storage.
- Develop safety-critical system software and fault detection, isolation, and recovery algorithms.
- Prototype and evaluate software architectures in collaboration with signal processing, hardware, and GNC engineers.
- Debug complex system-level issues spanning kernels, drivers, applications, and hardware components.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of embedded software experience.
- Experience with embedded systems and operating system concepts, including Linux or RTOS, BSPs, bootloaders, power management, or microcontrollers.
- Professional programming experience with C or C++ in embedded environments and Python for development, automation, and testing.
- Strong teamwork, communication, self-direction, and accountability in fast-paced environments.
- Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements for U.S. space technology work.
Nice to have
- Experience with aerospace, space, flight control, or GNC projects.
- Experience in regulated embedded industries such as automotive or medical robotics.
- Experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, VxWorks, custom SoCs, multi-processor boards, and ARM or RISC-V systems.
- Experience with UART, SPI, CSI-2, I2C, GPIO, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and embedded debugging tools.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams; a master’s degree is advantageous.
