TL;DR

Senior Prototype Build Technician (Aerospace): Building and maintaining complex electromechanical infrastructure and test equipment for all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with an accent on precision assembly and electrical fabrication. Salary: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Assemble complex electromechanical systems, from precision mechanical assemblies to high-power electrical enclosures, using engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify as-built challenges and suggest design or process improvements.
  • Build and integrate high-quality wire harnesses and electrical subsystems based on technical documentation.
  • Support R&D activities, including proof-of-concept builds and validation of new assembly processes for flight hardware.
  • Maintain lab excellence by performing routine equipment maintenance and upholding safety standards.
  • Manage resources by procuring specialized tools, hardware, and materials to meet build schedules.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent hands-on experience in automotive, mechanical, or electronics engineering.
  • Proficiency in mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Mastery of soldering, electronics fabrication, and wire harness assembly (NFPA and IEC standards).
  • Experience with high-voltage systems and a solid command of OSHA machine safety and 5S organization.
  • Skill in using precision inspection tools and navigating CAD software (NX, CATIA, or SolidWorks).
  • Must be based in the US; no work visa sponsorship is available.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in MIG/TIG welding and manual machining (mill and lathe).
  • Prior experience in R&D, prototype, or lab-based environments with rapidly evolving requirements.
  • Familiarity with custom-built test equipment and hardware-software integration.
