Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and optimizing manufacturing, installation, and maintenance processes for automated aviation systems with an accent on safety-critical hardware integration and regulatory compliance. Location: Must be based in Albuquerque, NM, with 30% travel required to San Martin, CA.
Salary: $135,000 – $190,000

What you will do
- Manage the installation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electromechanical, and avionics assemblies.
- Conduct design for excellence (DFx) reviews to ensure producibility, cost-efficiency, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with design and certification teams to embed manufacturability and risk mitigation into product development.
- Develop and maintain compliance with quality management systems, technical bulletins, and airworthiness directives.
- Ensure accurate documentation for all installation and inspection records.
- Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to maintain quality and schedule reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering, or 7+ years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience.
- 7+ years of experience in aircraft design, manufacturing, inspection, or testing.
- 2+ years of experience leading complex projects in aerospace, autonomy, or robotics.
- 2+ years of experience with CAD and PLM software (e.g., Altium, NX, Teamcenter).
- Must be a U.S. person to comply with U.S. export control laws.
- Willingness to travel 30% of the time for training and operations.
Nice to have
- FAA-accredited Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
- Experience with AS9100, 14 CFR 21.137, or 14 CFR Part 145.
- Knowledge of turbine-powered aircraft systems and P&W PT6A engines.
- Previous leadership or management experience.
