TL;DR
Water Resources Engineer III (Flood Control and Stormwater Infrastructure): Designing and supporting flood control and stormwater infrastructure projects, including levee systems, pump stations, dams, and related studies, with an accent on H&H modeling, permitting, and technical documentation. Focus on preparing design packages, conducting field investigations, navigating FEMA and other flood regulations, and coordinating with clients, regulators, contractors, and public stakeholders.

Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA, or Bethlehem, PA office

Salary: Starting at $80,000 annually; final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and licensing status.

What you will do

  • Support flood control projects involving levee systems, pump stations, dams, and related infrastructure.
  • Support stormwater infrastructure projects through design and technical studies.
  • Conduct field investigations and prepare H&H models, reports, technical studies, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Draft design packages, contract drawings, and permit applications while researching regulatory and permitting requirements.
  • Assist with construction administration and communicate with clients, regulatory officials, contractors, and public meeting participants.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; a focus in water resources is preferred.
  • EIT certification is required; PE licensure is an advantage.
  • 3–7 years of Civil or Environmental Engineering experience, with H&H experience highly desired.
  • Strong technical writing and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GIS, Hydraflow, HydroCAD, and HEC-RAS.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal flood regulations, including FEMA maps and studies.
  • PE license.
