Civil Engineer I (Energy)

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; office-based role with daily travel for field assignments

What you will do

• Support project managers with technical civil engineering design for solar, natural gas, pipeline, and other energy-sector land development projects.
• Develop Civil 3D and AutoCAD designs, permit and construction drawings, calculations, reports, and contract documents.
• Conduct site investigations, field sampling, monitoring, infiltration testing, and data collection using GPS-enabled equipment.
• Analyze mapping and site data to support feasibility determinations and land development decisions.
• Observe construction, document progress, identify deviations from approved drawings, and provide construction oversight.
• Manage submittals and RFIs while providing technical and administrative support for civil projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• 1–2 years of civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related Autodesk products.
• Ability to travel daily for field assignments and work extended hours when needed to meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Nice to have

• Engineer-in-Training certification.
• AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or related Autodesk certifications.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS.
