Staff Civil Engineer I

Salary: $65,000–$70,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct field inspections, document construction activities, and prepare clear field reports.
• Interpret design drawings and specifications and troubleshoot issues with contractors on-site.
• Perform soil and concrete material testing.
• Support civil engineering design and project management activities for land development and water resources projects.
• Develop stormwater management, site grading, and erosion and sediment control designs.
• Prepare agency and municipal review plans, complete permitting applications, and attend project meetings with officials, engineers, developers, and contractors.

Requirements

• Associate degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 0–2 years of experience in land development and civil-site engineering.
• Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, critical thinking, self-motivation, and willingness to learn.
• Desire to grow as a civil engineer or technical designer.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Engineer in Training certification.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software.
