What you will do

• Lead and review federal, state, and local tax returns for winery and agribusiness clients.
• Manage tax planning, compliance, and consulting projects including inventory costing and production accounting.
• Provide expert guidance on beverage alcohol regulations and excise tax considerations.
• Oversee and review ASC 740 tax provision work.
• Supervise, develop, and mentor staff and seniors on winery-specific tax topics.
• Maintain strong relationships with controllers, winemakers, and ownership groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA license, EA, or JD required (Manager level).
• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• At least 2 years of focused experience in wineries, vineyards, or agribusiness.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing staff.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of UNICAP rules and agricultural cost accounting.
• Experience with multi-entity structures or private equity-backed businesses.
• Familiarity with TTB regulations and excise taxes.
• Proficiency with cloud-based accounting and tax software.
