Principal Board Product Engineer (AI)

Salary: $150,680–$225,700 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Lead board-level product engineering from concept and prototype through production release and high-volume manufacturing.
• Drive EVT, DVT, PVT, Pilot, and Mass Production readiness reviews, deployment schedules, production ramps, and launch support.
• Coordinate hardware, ASIC, operations, test engineering, quality, reliability, supply chain, contract manufacturers, and suppliers.
• Own DFM, DFA, DFT, manufacturability improvements, manufacturing and functional test deployment, and production test readiness.
• Lead root-cause investigations, corrective actions, risk mitigation, yield improvement, assembly optimization, and test optimization.
• Monitor factory KPIs including first-pass yield, failure rates, and RMA trends, while qualifying alternate suppliers and manufacturing sites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 10–15 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree and/or PhD with 5–10 years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in board product engineering, NPI, manufacturing engineering, or hardware product development.
• Experience taking complex products from prototype through high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of PCB manufacturing, SMT assembly, optical subassemblies, fiber attach unit integration, and high-speed digital designs.
• Experience with manufacturing test methodologies, yield analysis, failure analysis, contract manufacturers, and component suppliers.
• Working knowledge of PLM systems, preferably Agile, plus ECO, MCO, DEV, PCN, regulatory compliance, and certification processes.
