TL;DR

Product Applications Engineer (High Speed Interconnect Products) (High-Speed PHY/SerDes): Supporting Tier 1 customers in designing, debugging, and launching products based on hirify.global's 100–3200 Gigabit PHYs with an accent on architecture, low-level hardware, and customer applications. Focus on analyzing complex systems, reviewing schematics and PCB layouts, bringing up boards and firmware, and solving signal-integrity and interoperability challenges.

Location: USA-CA Irvine Alton Parkway Bldg 2; most work is performed in the office, with customer-site visits and travel required.

Annual base salary: USD 143,800–230,000, plus discretionary bonus and equity opportunities.

What you will do

• Support customer architecture, low-level hardware, software, and product application questions before and after sales.
• Help secure customer design wins and support successful product launches.
• Analyze customer architectures and requirements, debug complex issues, and support board bring-up.
• Review schematics and PCB layouts and investigate high-speed signal-integrity issues.
• Contribute to product definition, roadmap planning, documentation, and technical training.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering, architecture, field applications, operations, sales, marketing, and senior management.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or postgraduate degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• 8–15+ years of relevant experience with a strong track record of success.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed 100Gbps+ PHY and SerDes technologies, plus experience with hardware/software/firmware bring-up.
• Practical knowledge of C, C++, and Visual Basic for modifying or creating simple functions and scripts.
• Experience with customer interaction, technical support, complex debugging, multitasking, presentations, and training.
• Ability to work primarily from the Irvine office and travel to customer premises when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ethernet systems and standards, 100Gbps/200Gbps/400Gbps optical systems, OTN, and complex system-on-chip devices.
• Register-level programming, high-speed board design, PAM4, optical components, and high-speed test equipment experience.
• Experience with Ethernet traffic generators, high-speed scopes, jitter and spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and OTN testers.
• Fluency in foreign languages.
