Staff Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: United States

Base pay: $126,000–$244,000 annually, depending on state and location.

What you will do

• Own the enterprise AI automation and transformation strategy with n8n as a core orchestration platform.
• Architect secure, scalable automation using n8n, Boomi, APIs, event-driven systems, and AI agents.
• Define development environments, CI/CD pipelines, governance models, reusable templates, and workflow standards.
• Implement monitoring, logging, anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, and reliability guardrails for deterministic and AI-driven workflows.
• Lead architecture reviews, technical design sessions, workflow reviews, and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor engineers and contractors on AI agents, prompt engineering, orchestration, responsible AI, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise automation, workflow engineering, integration engineering, or platform architecture.
• Deep hands-on expertise with n8n or Boomi, including AI-enabled workflows, agents, and business automations.
• Experience with API-first and event-driven architectures, REST, webhooks, OAuth, JWT, API security, and AI/ML service integration.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, LLMs, prompt engineering, AI agents, and observability.
• Ability to influence architecture at scale and drive adoption of AI-powered automation and transformation.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud AI services such as Bedrock or Azure OpenAI.
• Experience measuring AI workflow latency, cost, accuracy, and drift.
