Engineer III - FinOps Data Analytics (AI)

Location: USA - Remote. Candidates must be eligible for CJIS clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.

Base salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Implement cloud cost monitoring, alerting, allocation, tagging, and optimization solutions.
• Develop scripts, automation tools, guardrails, and policies to support FinOps workflows and prevent cost overruns.
• Build and maintain cost dashboards, reporting tools, and cost data collection and processing pipelines.
• Integrate cloud billing APIs with internal systems and support cost management tooling across product and platform groups.
• Monitor existing systems, troubleshoot cost-related issues, test optimization recommendations, and support data quality initiatives.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, documentation, on-call rotation, and cross-functional FinOps initiatives.

Requirements

• Eligibility for CJIS clearance through U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Programming experience with Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and a basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Experience with Git, monitoring tools, observability concepts, and Docker.

Nice to have

• Interest in FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
• Exposure to Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, databases, SQL, Grafana, or Tableau.
• Understanding of networking and security fundamentals.
• Previous exposure to cost optimization or resource management.
• Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
