Senior Data Analyst (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Carlos, California, with one day per week onsite

Salary: $103,600–$129,450 USD per year, plus additional compensation and benefits

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and build a modern AI analytics platform for R&D operations.
• Use Claude Code, Gemini, and other AI coding assistants to accelerate development while reviewing, debugging, testing, and validating generated output.
• Extract, transform, model, and analyze complex multi-source R&D data using optimized SQL and data pipelines.
• Create actionable insights, automated KPI workflows, and self-service analytics interfaces for R&D decision-making.
• Collaborate with R&D stakeholders and operational teams to define requirements and deliver robust data tools.
• Establish data validation frameworks, automated monitoring, and integrity checks.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, or software and data platform development.
• Advanced Python proficiency for data analysis, pipeline development, and platform prototyping.
• Strong expertise in writing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries.
• Practical experience with AI developer assistants such as Claude Code, Gemini, or GitHub Copilot.
• Ability to independently validate data workflows, queries, automated outputs, and AI-assisted code for quality, security, and accuracy.
• Experience with clean, modular, reproducible, documented code and Git-based version control.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, or other modern cloud data warehouse and analytics engineering tools.
• Experience building web-based data applications with Streamlit, Dash, Gradio, or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, operations research, or related biotech fields.
• Proficiency in a Linux or Unix environment.
