What you will do

  • Develop and revise legal strategies for the discovery, investigation, and hearing of accident benefit matters.
  • Conduct arbitration hearings before the License Appeals Tribunal.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, factums, and formal legal opinions.
  • Consult with Claims Representatives to render clear and unambiguous legal advice.
  • Stay current with legal developments and technical issues (medical, scientific, engineering) relevant to accident benefit cases.

Requirements

  • Licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Background in insurance defense litigation, specifically accident benefit claims, or general litigation experience.
  • Knowledge of License Appeals Tribunal documents and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and legal drafting skills.
  • Ability to work productively under pressure and deliver business results.
