What you will do
- Develop and revise legal strategies for the discovery, investigation, and hearing of accident benefit matters.
- Conduct arbitration hearings before the License Appeals Tribunal.
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, factums, and formal legal opinions.
- Consult with Claims Representatives to render clear and unambiguous legal advice.
- Stay current with legal developments and technical issues (medical, scientific, engineering) relevant to accident benefit cases.
Requirements
- Licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Background in insurance defense litigation, specifically accident benefit claims, or general litigation experience.
- Knowledge of License Appeals Tribunal documents and procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication and legal drafting skills.
- Ability to work productively under pressure and deliver business results.
