TL;DR
Sr. Staff Software Engineer (Fullstack/Healthcare): Leading the technical evolution of the Provider organization by setting the technical roadmap and engineering standards with an accent on high-throughput distributed systems and microservices architecture. Focus on designing scalable database-backed web applications and driving strategic engineering standards across multiple teams.
Location: Remote - United States (excluding Hawaii)
Salary: $240,550 – $283,000

What you will do
- Serve as the overarching Technical Individual Contributor Leader for the entire Provider organization.
- Set the technical roadmap and establish engineering standards across all teams in the Provider domain.
- Drive high-impact initiatives spanning the entire development lifecycle from planning and specing to execution and measurement.
- Partner with the Senior Director to align technical strategy with product goals.
- Mentor other engineers, review system architectures, and establish reusable design patterns.
- Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence engineering direction.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Strong full-stack experience building modern SQL/NoSQL database-backed web applications.
- Proven experience as a principal or lead architect for a major product domain or engineering group.
- Deep expertise in building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems and microservices.
- Ability to influence engineering direction and product strategy without direct authority.
- Must be based in the United States (currently not hiring in Hawaii)
Nice to have
- Background in healthcare data standards such as FHIR or HL7.
- Experience developing SaaS applications on AWS.
- Previous experience in mission-critical systems (e.g., finance) with high reliability requirements.
- Proficiency with NodeJs, Typescript, and Kafka.
- Startup experience and experience with on-call rotations.
