What you will do
- Lead business analysis for initiatives covering underwriting, rate/quote/bind workflows, policy lifecycle changes, and claims enhancements.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements using stakeholder interviews, workshops, and data analysis.
- Map and evaluate current-state processes, define optimized future-state workflows, and translate needs into process flows, data mapping, user stories, and BRDs.
- Partner with product owners, architects, and developers to shape viable solutions and ensure technical delivery matches business requirements.
- Support development and testing with story refinement, acceptance criteria, and defect triage.
- Facilitate solution design discussions, prioritization workshops, and backlog grooming sessions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of business analysis experience in Property & Casualty insurance, preferably with exposure to small commercial, specialty, or personal lines.
- Experience supporting rate/quote/bind processes and claims lifecycle initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to business context and detail.
- Proficiency creating process maps, use cases, user stories, data dictionaries, and functional specifications.
- Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart).
- Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
