Electrical Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Red Oak, Texas, United States; requires travel to data center sites across the United States and willingness to work during outages and maintenance.

What you will do

• Provide electrical engineering support to engineering, construction, facilities, operations, sustainability, sales, and procurement teams.
• Develop conceptual designs and specifications in line with hirify.global’s Basis of Design and technical standards.
• Review equipment submittals, RFIs, commissioning scripts, MOPs, SOPs, and construction documentation.
• Support startup, commissioning, integrated systems testing, capacity analysis, customer audits, and sales RFP documentation.
• Coordinate with consulting engineers, vendors, utility companies, and project stakeholders.
• Evaluate energy-efficiency initiatives and approve change-control procedures to protect operations and personnel safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• At least five years of professional experience in data center design, maintenance, and operations, with an emphasis on design.
• Strong knowledge of data center power distribution from medium-voltage substations to rack-level systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS, ATS/STS, PDU, RPP, DC plants, grounding, and EPMS.
• Knowledge of power systems analysis software such as SKM or EasyPower, plus AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of applicable codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code, NETA, and ASHRAE.
• Ability to travel to sites across the United States and work off hours during outages and maintenance.
