Energy Rating Specialist (Building Science)

Salary: $63,500–$87,900 per year

What you will do

• Work with design and construction teams from project planning through final construction.
• Review residential construction blueprints and plans and create energy models using EKOTROPE.
• Visit construction sites, collect site data, and perform diagnostic testing with blower door and duct blaster equipment.
• Prepare documentation and submit materials for code compliance, certifications, and rebate eligibility.
• Provide technical assistance and training to contractors and project teams on energy efficiency and green specifications.
• Support HERS Ratings, Energy Code Compliance, Energy Star Homes, DOE Efficient New Homes, and Passive House projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Building Science, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field; relevant field experience may substitute.
• Residential construction experience preferred.
• Ability to learn and process technical information related to design, construction standards, and building science.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple details, tasks, and deadlines independently and as part of a team; applicable DOT requirements must be met.
