What you will do
- Execute commercial and industrial energy efficiency projects, including retro-commissioning (RCx), virtual Cx, and building tune-ups.
- Analyze building automation system (BAS) data, interval meter data, and operational trends to identify low-cost energy savings.
- Develop engineering calculations to quantify energy and cost savings using spreadsheets, Python, or energy modeling software.
- Present technical findings and recommended next steps to customers, contractors, and utility program staff.
- Support the enhancement of the company's virtual energy management software platform by providing feedback and developing analytical tools using Python.
- Conduct measurement and verification (M&V) activities to confirm project implementation and verify savings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Energy, Architectural, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience in C&I energy efficiency, retro-commissioning, or energy audits.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, building automation systems (BAS), controls, boilers, and pumps.
- Proficiency in analyzing energy data, utility bills, and equipment operating data.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills for presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Must be based in the US (preferred states: IL, IA, MA, NJ, TX, WI or Midwest/Eastern US).
Nice to have
- Experience with monitoring-based commissioning or virtual energy management.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, 55, or IECC).
- Proficiency in Python for energy analysis and automation.
- Experience managing multiple project budgets, schedules, and stakeholder relationships.
