What you will do

• Build and lead a high-calibre Platform Engineering function covering cloud, data, and developer experience.
• Define and own the internal Platform-as-a-Service to enable AI-enabled software delivery.
• Establish standards for reliability, platform quality, and shared data governance.
• Hire and develop engineering leaders and specialists across platform, cloud, SRE, and data disciplines.
• Partner with product engineering leaders to balance central consistency with domain-specific flexibility.
• Identify and resolve systemic reliability risks and operational bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK with a preference for office attendance.
• Strong technology leadership experience in building shared platforms and data capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage complex environments where reliability, scale, and coordination are critical.
• Experience moving between cloud infrastructure, data foundations, and organizational design.
• Ability to bring structure to complexity without becoming bureaucratic.
• Strong operational judgement and credibility with senior engineering teams.
