Senior Automation Engineer

Location: Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico; travel up to 35% domestically and 15% internationally.

What you will do

• Act as the technical reference for the automation engineering team and promote engineering best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and track project engineering deliverables covering design, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle activities.
• Analyze, design, implement, and support automation solutions involving PLCs, HMI/SCADA, databases, and cybersecurity.
• Configure PLCs, fieldbus networks, distributed I/O, control systems, electrical schematics, control panels, and system architectures.
• Lead installation, commissioning, performance testing, design reviews, safety risk assessments, troubleshooting, and customer training.
• Mentor engineers, support customers and account managers, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and quality processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience with industrial automation systems in processing environments.
• Strong PLC and HMI/SCADA programming skills; Rockwell or hirify.global standards are preferred.
• Experience with MES systems, databases, and virtualization technologies, plus working knowledge of ISA-S88 and ISA-S95.
• Strong electrical design and troubleshooting skills up to 600 VAC, as well as experience with pneumatic systems.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Strong communication, problem-solving, technical leadership, and mentoring skills are expected.
