TL;DR

UK Corporate Tax Associate (Finance): Managing the UK corporation tax compliance cycle and supporting the group's tax governance framework with an accent on CT600 returns and tax accounting. Focus on identifying tax risks and opportunities, managing HMRC enquiries, and providing advisory on cross-border transactions.

Location: Hybrid (London, UK). Must be based in London and able to work from the office 3 days a week.

What you will do

  • Prepare and review UK corporation tax computations and CT600 returns, managing compliance deadlines.
  • Support the tax accounting cycle, including current and deferred tax provisions under IFRS and/or US GAAP.
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities related to capital allowances, R&D, loss utilisation, and group relief.
  • Support tax governance and risk frameworks, including SAO, CCO procedures, and HMRC relations.
  • Provide advisory on withholding taxes, interest deductibility (CIR), transfer pricing, and cross-border transactions.
  • Manage HMRC enquiries by preparing documentation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in UK corporate tax, either in practice or in-house.
  • Sound working knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation and strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent.
  • Experience within a Big Four firm or a multinational in-house tax team.
  • Awareness of international developments like Pillar Two and tax governance obligations (SAO, CCO).
