Analyst, Mechanical

Location: Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Flexible activity-based work model combining office collaboration with remote work for focused tasks.

Salary: CAD 50,000–70,000 per year.

What you will do

• Prepare mechanical cost estimates from conceptual design through the pre-tender stage.
• Inspect and assess mechanical elements across building and infrastructure projects.
• Complete mechanical, trade, and elemental takeoffs using various methods and on-screen takeoff tools.
• Support lifecycle analysis covering current condition, remaining life, maintenance costs, and estimates.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to prepare reports and resolve project issues.
• Maintain client relationships and support contract renewals, referrals, and service expansion.

Requirements

• 1–2 or more years of experience in mechanical cost consulting or estimating.
• Understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems in different building types.
• Knowledge of the construction industry, including development, contracting, and consulting services.
• Excellent communication, organization, multitasking, and deadline-management skills.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and on-screen takeoff.
• Familiarity with CIQS measurement standards, elemental and trade measurement, and UniFormat.

Nice to have

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology, or related trade experience.
• Working toward a PQS or MRICS designation.
