Distribution Group Leader (Electric Distribution Engineering)

What you will do

• Directly manage, supervise, mentor, and develop engineers and designers.
• Level workloads, assign resources, monitor utilization, and implement corrective actions to meet group KPIs.
• Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, invoicing, financial performance, quality, and client outcomes.
• Prepare and review preliminary electric distribution designs, plans, specifications, studies, estimates, and material lists.
• Collaborate with practice, market sector, and department leaders on resource planning, technical priorities, business development, and cross-selling.
• Ensure adherence to project management and QA/QC practices while communicating with clients about project changes and concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years of combined engineering and leadership experience in electric distribution engineering, preferably in utility, municipal, or consulting environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, CYME, or similar distribution modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of NESC, NEC, RUS, and utility design standards.
• Ability to work nights and weekends when required for meetings or demanding project schedules.

Nice to have

• Experience with Milsoft WindMil E&A software.
• Experience with O-Calc or PLS-CADD.
