TL;DR

Manager / Sr. Manager Environmental Remediation (Engineering): Directing environmental remediation projects across MT, WA, WY, and CO with an accent on regulatory compliance and liability reduction. Location: Onsite in Helena, MT; Denver, CO; Seattle, WA; Tacoma, WA; or Whitefish, MT

Salary: $110,430 - $142,700

What you will do

  • Direct environmental remediation projects in the states of Montana, Washington, Wyoming, and Colorado.
  • Select and implement environmental remediation alternatives consistent with company guidelines.
  • Negotiate clean-up standards with state and federal agencies.
  • Manage cost-recovery efforts with third parties for clean-up sites.
  • Act as a first responder to derailments and emergencies potentially impacting the environment.
  • Manage the reduction of environmental liability for legacy sites through technical expertise and consultant management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a field related to environmental remediation (Post-graduate degree preferred).
  • 5+ years (for Manager) or 10+ years (for Sr. Manager) of environmental remediation experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations including RCRA, CERCLA, and OPA.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, chemical hazards, and environmental impacts of chemical releases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to become an OSHA-trained hazardous material adviser.

Nice to have

  • Registered Professional Engineer, Professional Geologist, or other certified professional status.
  • Knowledge of contaminant migration in soil and groundwater.
  • Experience managing environmental consultants.
  • Experience working in a railroad environment and managing multiple projects.
