What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers through hiring, coaching, and career development.
• Guide the design, architecture, and implementation of high-scale services and tools that power world-class games.
• Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and highly performant for millions of daily players.
• Establish best practices in software development, infrastructure, and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with leadership, product managers, and designers to align on goals and execution strategies.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams, including performance management and coaching.
• Strong proficiency in Java, C#, or another object-oriented language, including concurrent programming.
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP) and low-latency, high-scale distributed systems.
• Extensive experience in software development and system design.
• English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Location: Must be based in Barcelona, Spain (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience operating large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and incident management practices.
• Familiarity with the gaming industry, live operations, or game development ecosystems.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka.
