Senior HR Business Partner (Defense)

Location: Flexible hybrid working from the Tring or Burridge sites in the UK; occasional travel between sites and internationally may be required.

Ultra I&C's Communications Business develops and manufactures resilient tactical communications, encryption, AI-enabled software, radio, troposcatter, and satellite communication systems for military and allied customers.

What you will do

• Shape and deliver the people agenda across UK operations during a phase of growth and transformation.
• Advise UK leadership and senior stakeholders on organisational performance, culture, and people strategy.
• Lead organisational development, change initiatives, and performance and development frameworks.
• Manage complex employee relations matters and support the implementation of HR policies.
• Develop recruitment and retention strategies and use HR data to inform decisions.
• Support HR integration and alignment across teams in the UK, Canada, and the USA.

Requirements

• Extensive HRBP experience in complex, technical, or multi-site environments, ideally in defence, engineering, or manufacturing.
• CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience; Chartered CIPD status is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience managing complex employee relations matters.
• Experience shaping culture, leading organisational change, and implementing performance and development frameworks.
• Excellent communication, coaching, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS or SC security clearance.

Nice to have

• MCIPD or Chartered MCIPD qualification.
• Coaching qualifications such as ILM, EMCC, or ICF.
• Experience in defence, engineering, or manufacturing.
