What you will do

• Act as a strategic legal advisor to executive leadership to identify risks and opportunities for high-impact decisions.
• Develop and lead a sequenced roadmap to close legal and compliance gaps based on business risk and organizational capacity.
• Build and execute a scalable compliance program covering data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), AI governance, and ethics.
• Manage corporate legal activities, including governance, equity administration, and potential M&A or financing activity.
• Advise People and Finance teams on employment law matters for a global workforce.
• Direct intellectual property strategy and provide strategic counseling to product and engineering teams for compliant launches.

Requirements

• 10+ years of legal experience, with 4+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong in-house background at an international, B2B SaaS company.
• Law degree and admission to, and in good standing with, the local governing body.
• Proven experience building compliance programs at a scaling company.
• Deep understanding of sell-side SaaS contracting and navigating complex deals.
• Must be based in one of the following US jurisdictions: CA, MD, MA, IL, OR, WA, CO, TX, FL, PA, LA, MO, or DC.

Nice to have

• Prior experience as General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel at a B2B SaaS company (Series B/C stage).
• Background in cybersecurity or data privacy with certifications such as CIPP/US or CIPP/E.
• Experience implementing AI tools and workflow automation to enhance legal operations.
