What you will do

• Advise on legal and regulatory dimensions of AI, machine learning, and biometric identity verification.
• Build and manage an AI governance framework covering model risk, transparency, and vendor assessments.
• Lead the privacy program, including data protection impact assessments, retention schedules, and privacy-by-design reviews.
• Partner with security teams on incident response, breach assessment, and customer security commitments.
• Draft and negotiate complex data processing agreements and privacy terms with customers and vendors.
• Translate evolving global privacy and AI regulations into actionable guidance for product and engineering leadership.

Requirements

• J.D. and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 6+ years of relevant legal experience with a substantial focus on privacy and data protection.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, BIPA) and working fluency with GDPR.
• Proven track record of operationalizing privacy programs in fast-moving product environments.
• Experience advising on biometric data, e-signature, or online notarization regulatory regimes.
• Understanding of technology, machine learning, and security frameworks like SOC 2 or NIST.

• Privacy certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT.
• AI governance certification such as IAPP AIGP.
