What you will do

• Draft and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements, including SaaS subscriptions, MSAs, SLAs, and strategic partnership contracts.
• Act as embedded product counsel, collaborating with Engineering teams to ensure compliance-by-design from concept to launch.
• Advise on global data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, Law 25/PIPEDA) and negotiate Data Processing Addendums.
• Stay ahead of emerging AI regulatory frameworks, such as the EU AI Act, and their implications for generative AI.
• Manage commercial claims and active litigation under the direction of the General Counsel, coordinating with external firms.
• Support corporate governance, employment law matters, and intellectual property management.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and active membership in a relevant Bar Association or Law Society.
• 2–3+ years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of law firm training and in-house SaaS experience.
• Must be based in Canada or the United States.
• Strong foundational knowledge of data privacy frameworks and a keen interest in AI legal ethics.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.
