Sr. Professional, Database Design and Admin

What you will do

• Ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of database platforms supporting business operations.
• Design, install, configure, upgrade, patch, migrate, and support production and non-production databases.
• Handle service requests, database alerts, incidents, and changes, including participation in high-severity incident bridges.
• Configure monitoring, validate database events, and keep stakeholders informed about service status.
• Maintain documentation, provide knowledge transfer, facilitate weekly team meetings, and deliver periodic reports.
• Perform capacity planning and recommend improvements based on monitoring tools, alerts, and operational data.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration, database architecture, information systems, and data structures.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle single-instance and RAC databases, and/or PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Experience with Data Guard, high-availability solutions, replication, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, including GCP, Azure, and AWS, plus monitoring tools such as OEM, Datadog, and cloud-native monitoring.
• Scripting and automation skills with shell and Python; knowledge of database security, access provisioning, auditing, and entity-relationship concepts.
• Understanding of ITIL practices, strong analytical and prioritization skills, and solid technical documentation abilities.
