TL;DR

Commercial Sales Leader (AI): Building and leading the commercial sales team to execute the go-to-market motion for mid-sized organizations with an accent on hiring, coaching, and scaling high-performing AE teams. Focus on developing repeatable sales playbooks, driving predictable revenue growth, and managing high-velocity deals across IT, Security, and Engineering.

Location: On-site in San Francisco or New York

Compensation: $350K – $400K (OTE) + Equity + Commission

What you will do

  • Build, hire, and scale the commercial AE team from the ground up, defining roles and territories.
  • Coach team members on deal strategy, multi-threading, champion building, and pipeline management.
  • Drive team performance and accountability for quota attainment and forecast accuracy.
  • Maintain a strategic book of business, owning and closing key commercial accounts.
  • Develop and refine the commercial sales playbook, including outbound strategy and proof-of-value motions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to influence the roadmap and security positioning for commercial buyers.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience.
  • 2–3 years of experience managing and developing commercial or mid-market AE teams.
  • Proven track record of scaling sales teams at early- to growth-stage companies (Seed to Series C+).
  • Deep experience selling into mid-sized organizations across IT, Security, and Engineering personas.
  • Expertise in managing 1–3 month sales cycles with director to VP-level buyers.
  • Must be based in or able to work on-site in San Francisco or New York.

Nice to have

  • Experience building commercial teams from 0 to 5+ reps.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies like MEDDPICC, Challenger, or Command of the Message.
  • Proficiency with modern sales tech stacks including Salesforce, Outreach, and Gong.
  • Comfort leading technical sales motions, including POCs and discussions around APIs and integrations.
