Staff Product Designer (AI)

TL;DR

Staff Product Designer (AI/Fintech): Designing the next generation of the RiskOS AI-native operating layer for risk decisioning with an accent on AI-powered workflows, guided decisioning, and enterprise scalability. Focus on integrating intelligence into complex fraud and compliance workflows and establishing high-craft design standards.

Location: Hybrid - San Francisco, CA (2-3 days per week on-site)

Salary: $210K – $245K + Equity + Bonus

What you will do

• Own end-to-end product design for the RiskOS platform from discovery to pixel-perfect delivery.
• Lead design for AI-driven capabilities, including AI explanations of decisions, recommended next steps, and dynamic workflows.
• Partner with product, engineering, and ML teams to define how intelligence is integrated into the UX and interaction models.
• Mentor junior and mid-level designers while maintaining a high bar for craft and a healthy feedback culture.
• Evolve the hirify.global design system, ensuring components and documentation remain current.
• Translate data-dense fraud and compliance workflows into clear, trustworthy, and efficient interfaces.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of product design experience, with a significant focus on enterprise B2B applications.
• Portfolio is a hard requirement showcasing strong craft in complex enterprise product contexts.
• Proven track record of designing AI-powered features in production (e.g., interpretability UX, workflow automation).
• Deep fluency in design systems, including component architecture and consistency.
• Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and present structured thinking to stakeholders.
• Must be based in or be able to work hybrid in San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for fraud, risk, identity verification, or compliance workflows.
• Comfort with basic front-end code (HTML/CSS) for high-fidelity developer handoff.
• Experience working within or alongside an in-house design system team.
• Interest in moving toward people management as a long-term growth path.
