What you will do

• Serve as the single engineering DRI for the Commerce platform, owning the technical vision and execution for catalog, pricing, promotions, payments, and checkout.
• Lead and coach a team of engineers and managers, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Drive the organization's transition to an AI-first engineering culture and spec-driven development.
• Define and deliver the engineering roadmap in partnership with product and design, balancing innovation with system reliability.
• Champion domain boundaries and API-driven integration to eliminate direct cross-domain database access.
• Manage staffing, headcount planning, and organizational strategy to match the evolving needs of the Commerce domain.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years leading multiple teams in high-growth environments.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Strong technical background in Node.js, GraphQL, React, TypeScript, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in e-commerce, health tech, or subscription-based platforms.
• Expertise in building scalable, secure, and compliant systems for clinically sensitive data.
• Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing engineering talent with strong executive presence.
