TL;DR
Director, Platform Development (Node.js): Leading the design, buildout, and evolution of a modern enterprise data platform with an accent on scalable data ingestion and Lakehouse-style architectures. Location: Fully Remote (USA)
Salary: $170,000 - $210,000 yearly

What you will do
- Lead the design and implementation of core backend services and data platform components using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Establish and evolve platform architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards.
- Own and triage intake requests, balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform health.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, repeatable, and observable deployments.
- Hire, mentor, and manage engineers as the team grows.
- Partner with governance and analytics teams to support ELT pipelines, metadata, and lineage requirements.
Requirements
- Deep foundation in software engineering, including OOP, design patterns, and API service design.
- Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, Lakehouse architectures, and ELT pipelines.
- Experience building modular or microservice-based systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineers.
- Strong commitment to TDD, automated test coverage, and secure development lifecycle (SDL) principles.
- Must be eligible for US-based employment and benefits (401k, US health insurance).
Nice to have
- Experience with ML platforms or services such as Databricks or AWS Bedrock.
- Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience working in media, streaming, or large-scale enterprise environments.
- Prior experience modernizing legacy systems into cloud-native platforms.
