TL;DR

Employment Counsel (Legal/EMEA): Serving as the primary employment legal advisor across EMEA to support an international workforce and scale the global employment legal function with an accent on compliance, employee relations, and workforce scaling. Focus on designing scalable policies, managing employment litigation, and advising senior stakeholders on complex disciplinary and grievance matters.

Location: Must be based in the United Kingdom (remote or London-based)

What you will do

  • Act as the primary employment legal advisor for EMEA, partnering with People and business leaders on strategic workforce matters.
  • Draft and update employment and benefits-related documentation and agreements.
  • Advise stakeholders on complex employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, and investigation processes.
  • Build scalable employment policies, playbooks, and self-serve tools to operationalize compliance.
  • Support international growth and expansion into new jurisdictions.
  • Manage employment-related litigation, including strategy and coordination with external counsel.

Requirements

  • UK-qualified with 8+ years PQE, including experience in top-tier law firms and in-house departments.
  • Significant experience in employment law across EMEA, covering employee relations, works councils, and restructurings.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making and build relationships with senior leadership.
  • Experience scaling employment processes in growing organizations, including the use of AI-enabled tools.
  • Must be based in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

  • Significant experience with employment law in France and Germany.
  • Fluency in French or German.
  • Experience with international expansion and M&A.
  • Interest in employment law outside of EMEA.
