Scrum Manager (Suspension Controls)

TL;DR

Scrum Manager (Automotive): Leading an agile scrum team responsible for the analysis, design, and testing of suspension control features with an accent on ride height, damping, and off-road capabilities. Focus on maximizing value output, managing the team backlog, and ensuring technical integrity within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Location: Hybrid: Must report to Milford, Michigan at least three times per week

What you will do

• Lead an agile scrum team through the analysis, design, coding, and testing of suspension control features.
• Manage and prioritize the team backlog, serving as the customer proxy to ensure solution intent.
• Collaborate with the Agile Release Train (ART) and System Architects to refine the program vision and roadmap.
• Coordinate dependencies across multiple scrum teams and communicate cross-functionally with stakeholders and calibration teams.
• Define acceptance criteria and ensure technical integrity using BDD and TDD.
• Provide guidance and coaching to scrum team members while managing capacity and sequencing user stories.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, CS, Mathematics, or Physics.
• 5+ years of experience in controls system development, including integration and testing of hardware and software.
• Experience with vehicle electrical systems, serial data communications, and requirements validation.
• Proven project management skills and ability to lead complex projects autonomously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across various organizational levels.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
• 8+ years of experience in vehicle chassis controls development.
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training or certifications.
• Knowledge of OBD-II diagnostics and Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL).
• DFSS Black Belt certification.
