What you will do

  • Account for sales commissions ensuring compliance with ASC 340-40 standards.
  • Analyze commission plans, sales arrangements, and contract terms for capitalization and amortization.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Payroll, and FP&A teams to assess commission implications of new deals.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation supporting commission accounting policies.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of commission-related accounts including clawbacks and true-ups.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in commissions or revenue accounting.
  • Thorough understanding of ASC 340-40 and contract cost accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a background check and verify identity/location.

Nice to have

  • CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms.
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce.
  • Experience with commission management tools like CaptivateIQ or Xactly.
