Salary: $163,000–$204,000 (most locations) or $197,000–$247,000 (SF & NY)

What you will do

• Lead technical design and architecture for the Commerce Platform, including product catalogs, promotion engines, and subscription systems.
• Partner with product management and cross-functional engineering teams to define the technical roadmap.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of complex, ambiguous projects from scoping through implementation and rollout.
• Mentor and grow engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on technical coaching.
• Establish team-wide best practices for AI-augmented development to accelerate velocity.
• Collaborate with marketing and business teams to evolve self-serve systems for managing product offerings.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Deep experience building large-scale backend platform systems in commerce, billing, or subscription domains.
• Strong command of distributed systems, API design, and service reliability practices (defining/meeting SLOs).
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and align engineering and business stakeholders.
• Experience with large-scale refactors and solving complex production performance issues.
• Ability to travel to a hirify.global office for onboarding.
