Senior Value Chain Engineer (Automotive)

Senior Value Chain Engineer (Automotive): Optimizing material costs for cutting-edge technology components within the supply base with an accent on cost modeling, supplier audits, and risk mitigation. Focus on identifying waste, implementing cost reduction plans, and aligning cross-functional teams across Engineering, Purchasing, and Finance.

Location: Hybrid. Must be based in or be able to report to the Global HQ in Warren, MI three times per week. No relocation benefits provided. No immigration sponsorship available.

What you will do

• Build detailed cost models and conduct supplier audits to verify cost reporting accuracy.
• Analyze cost gaps and data to support buyers in developing sourcing and negotiation strategies.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction activities by identifying waste at supplier sites.
• Conduct on-site workshops with suppliers and monitor the implementation of improvement plans.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
• Manage tooling and piece price perspectives for the assigned SMT.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• 5-10 years of experience in project execution.
• Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Strong competencies in negotiation, vendor management, and analytical thinking.
• Must have valid US work authorization (no immigration sponsorship provided now or in the future).
• Ability to travel at least 25% of the time, including international travel to supplier facilities.

• Experience in the Automotive, Industrial, or Financial industries.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand basic engineering documents.
• Operational experience and capability to interpret market data.
