Lead / Senior Fire Protection Engineer/Consultant (Fire Protection Engineering)

Location: Allen, Austin, or Houston, Texas, or Denver, Colorado; must be local to one of these metro areas or willing to relocate. Travel to job sites in Texas, Colorado, and/or surrounding states is required.

What you will do

• Provide fire protection consulting services for clients and collaborate with owners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Perform life safety code consulting, fire protection design, fire alarm and mass notification design, smoke control design, hazardous materials consulting, commissioning, and performance-based solution development.
• Develop plans, specifications, inspection reports, design reviews, code analyses, egress analyses, fire detection and alarm reviews, smoke control reviews, sprinkler and water supply reviews, and hydraulic calculations.
• Investigate and resolve design problems through field investigations, research, detailed design work, and review of others' design computations.
• Manage projects, including proposals, scope, schedules, budgets, resources, milestones, and client interactions.
• Participate in business development through client outreach, conferences, professional organizations, and presentations; perform or review CAD/Revit production as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher.
• 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering.
• Effective written and oral communication skills for reports, business correspondence, presentations, procedure manuals, and stakeholder questions.
• Must be local to the Austin, TX, Allen, TX, Houston, TX, or Denver, CO metro areas or willing to relocate.
• Ability to travel to job sites in Texas, Colorado, and/or surrounding states.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas.
