Senior Life Safety & Fire Protection Engineer (Advanced Facilities)

What you will do

• Design fire alarm, detection, suppression, toxic and flammable gas monitoring, and specialized life safety control systems.
• Create and coordinate high-fidelity 3D models and construction documentation using Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Produce engineering calculations, equipment sizing specifications, system layouts, and construction document packages.
• Apply IBC, IFC, NFPA 72, NFPA 101, and NFPA 70 requirements to achieve compliant designs.
• Review vendor submittals and shop drawings, conduct field evaluations and inspections, and support construction, commissioning, and facility startup.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and code enforcement officials while managing multiple technical tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Fire Protection, or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active EIT certification or NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
• At least five years of professional experience engineering fire alarm and complex life safety systems.
• Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP, including experience with aspirating smoke detection systems such as VESDA.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 101.
• Must be physically capable of working on-site, walking long distances, climbing ladders, navigating tight utility spaces, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

• Active Professional Engineer license.
• Experience with semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, or high-hazard industrial complexes.
• Experience with gas detection, hazardous production materials tracking, leak detection, or fire dynamics and smoke modeling.
• Familiarity with NFPA 13, 75, 76, 2001, or 400.
• Experience integrating fire systems with low-voltage networks, security matrices, or CCTV.
